Who is Helen Parlor

Helen Parlor has been working as a contemporary dancer, choreographer, artistic director and rehearsal director since 1998. Helen has worked professionally with Dansconnect (1998-99), collaborating with choreographers Jonathon Lunn, Scott Ambler, Yael Flexor and Nikky Smedley. Motionhouse Dance Theatre (2000-06) creating and performing 'Atomic', 'Fearless', 'Volatile' and 'Perfect'. Panta Rei Danseteater, Norway (2006-2007), working with choreographers Jamie Watton and Anne Ekenes. Currently Helen dances for Mobius Dance Theatre in their new production 'Such Is Life'.
Throughout her career Helen has held a dedication to teaching people of all ages and abilities as well as creating work on various groups both in theatrical contexts and through site specific works. In the summer of 2010 Helen made a site specific at Portsmouth's Guild Hall, entitled 'Together We Stand' working with dancers from as young as seven up to dancers in their eighties. 2010 has seen new collaborations for Helen. In May 2010 Helen worked with 'Theatre Is' to create 'Epiphany', working with professional break dancers and hip hop artists to create a professional work which toured in the round to various theatres.
Helen has also started to work with FringeMK on a new site specific in Milton Keynes shopping centre working with local schools and professional dancers, entitled 'A Fools Journey'. Read more here.
